How invoicing works

Invoices move through a simple lifecycle from draft to paid. Understanding each stage helps you keep your books accurate.

The invoice lifecycle

  • Draft — editable and not yet sent.
  • Sent — delivered to the customer and awaiting payment.
  • Partially paid — some balance remains.
  • Paid — fully settled.

Recurring invoices

For ongoing work you can set an invoice to repeat on a schedule. The system generates a fresh copy automatically and can email it to the customer without manual steps.
